WJR Club would like to remind everyone of the walk this Saturday, June 14. The walk will be at Oxford Lake, starting promptly at 7 a.m. We will meet at pavilion #9. The walk will be canceled in the case of rain or any other non-permitting weather. If you have any questions, please contact Raynard at 256-283-6941.
WJR Club would like to send out several "Shout Outs" to members! Ray and Pat completed the Rock N Roll Country Music City Half Marathon in Nashville, TN. Several members came out to the Color Run to show their support for LaMesa Brooks who taught the warm up Zumba class. She really showed up and showed out!! Connie and Kelly came out to the Color Run in Birmingham to show their support for LaMesa Brooks and also to participate in the run. Kelly was really sporting that Hello Kitty tutu! Great job ladies! Candace Baker participated in a Color Run in Georgia. She had a blast! WJR Club would like to send a big "Shout Out" to Cotina Houston on a wonderful job on the First Annual Foothills Family Festival & 5k Run for Funds which benefits children and families. The run was a great success. There were many adults and children there to show their support! WJR Club would also like to send a "Shout Out" to Kelly Smith for placing third place overall female. Other members who placed in their age groups are Cotina Houston, Marcus Boykin, and June Brooks. Congratulations everyone! Hello WJR Club members. There are several walks and runs that we would like everyone to come out and support. First, there is the Parker Pancake Run on Saturday, March 1 which supports Parker Memorial Baptist Church Missions Ministry. Second, there is the Rumpshaker 5k in Birmingham on March 15 which benefits colon cancer. Third, Family Link Inc. presents its first annual Foothills Family Festival & 5k Run For Funds 5k on Saturday, April 12. This run benefits children and families. Has the cold weather caused problems with your workout? Well, there is nothing better than to get back into the swing of things with a 5k run/walk. WJR Club would like to challenge everyone to get moving with the 800 Mile And More Challenge! Whether you are a beginning walker or a seasoned runner, there is a challenge just for you.
